November is the beginning of one of my favorite times of the year. No, not because of the discounted Halloween candy (though that helps) or because of the impending holiday madness, and no, it’s definitely not due to the weather (I hate snow.) It’s because November is the month that I order my new planner calendars for the next year.
I love office supplies, and bright, shiny new calendars are no exception. I love looking at them when they arrive, going through and marking birthday’s and anniversaries, and thinking, “this will be the year that I send everyone a card!” Or, “this will be the year that I finally stop procrastinating and actually get something done way before the deadline.”
Setting up those week-in-view calendars are like making my New Years’ Resolutions. Only a few months early. And actually written down.
Plus, I’m one of those crazy people who multiple planners. I have a small purse-sized wire-bound one, a smaller than desk-sized 6-ring one, and a tabbed monthly calendar that sits above my desk. That’s not including the dry-erase board that I use to list all my weekly writing assignments.
You’d think that with all of those organization tools my desk wouldn’t be a mess, but no such luck. Maybe now that I’m working from home I’ll finally have things in order!
In the meantime, I think I’m going to be ahead of the game and design my photo Christmas cards this week. Who wants a kitten card? (Just kidding.)
